smith mountain campground, va
Any thoughts? this is not the campground in the park, This is near penook. Is it worth the visit?

SML is a pretty lake, it is a good fishing and skiing area but very crowded on the weekends. If you are not bringing a boat you may want to try fairy stone state park, its a little farther south, lake has no motorized boat traffic, lots of hiking trails, you can search for fairy stones, and there is easy access to Blue ridge pkwy for other places to go.
