While you are on the Blue Ridge Parkway. you should leave the smokeys behind, and come on over to the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Smoky Mountains are only a very small part of the NC Mountains.
Once you leave the Smokeys, and ride the BRP toward Linville, Grandfather Mountain, Little Switzerland, Boone, Blowing Rock, And other places in the NC High Country.
You will find much cooler temps, and great views.
