You will be well out of the Smokey mountains after 100 miles.
Most of the BRP is in NC. None of it is in Tenn. So if you stay in the toursty area. It's a pretty good drive just to get on the BRP. And As I say. the farther North you go, the cooler and prettier it gets. Lots of stuff to see on, or right off the parkway.
