Smoky mountains

Going to Smokies on Saturday. Was wondering about taking our two dogs into the park with us on our day trips. We are staying at Up The Creek RV Park. Thanks, John
  • We hiked the Townsend side in May and commented on the number of trails marked "no dogs".

Check with your park, or the Smokies office by telephone. Last time we were there a few dog "friendly" trails had been set aside on the Townsend side.
  • Found this for you.

In general, pets are only permitted in National Parks along roadways, in developed areas and in campgrounds, and must be restrained on a leash no longer than 6 feet in length, caged or crated at all times. Pets are not permitted inside buildings, on most trails, on beaches, or in the back country.
