Solar: I have a converter, need a charge controller too?

I have a converter, do I also need a battery charge controller for solar? My trailer comes with a WFCO 8945, which is three stage, and I can't find a definitive answer on this question anywhere. Seems...

You're right, I forgot that converters don't work that way. I had it backwards in my head.

No wonder I couldn't find an answer on it :B
