South Dakota SP's

Need info on overnite camping at SP sites.
On our last trip thru SD in fall of 2013. They'd started requiring online/phone-in registration only. Doing away with the self-registration, at check-in stations, upon arrival. Web site shows self check-in at location is a choice.
Can the on site check-in be used again since your last visit?
