This is our 4th season in the Texas Hill Country. Yes, it is cooler than normal and what we wish it was. We've come to expect that we'll experience 3-6 weeks of 'winter' weather and this year is no different; yesterday we had a high of 35 but today it got up to 68. We've come to realize that we don't come here just for the warmer temperatures than what we have back in Iowa, but to continue friendships we have formulated here in the park. We've also found the "locals" to very friendly and welcoming. Every year that we've returned to our Texas location, upon going to our church, the pastor says simply, "Welcome home". And so far, regardless of when we get moisture, I've never had to shovel any of it.
