I brought this thread back to life as reference. It appears that somewhere around 12/31/2014 the thread went from wonderful, to not so wonderful (Texas winter). It now appears spring is here (hopefully) to stay on 2/11/2015. That took roughly five weeks.
During those five weeks we did have a few nice days, but nothing that a person with only a one week vacation would have been very happy spending a lot of money (i.e plane tickets, hotel, etc...) for.
For me, that is a typical snowbird season in Southern Texas. Maybe years ago it wasn't that way, but it sure does seem to be the norm since I've been coming down here. I'm betting it always has been that way, since the price seems to reflect a less then semi-tropical winter.
