All the above is true, but today it may barely get out of the 40's in Rockport. Add in the wind and the "real feel" will be much less. Then for those that need to see the sun it will be cloudy for awhile...
Yes, Mar-May is awesome just like Nov-Dec is. If you're the type of Winter Texan that comes down for six months and has a non-moving dwelling setup for those in between winter months (wind breaks, casita with washer/dryer, etc...) you can survive very nicely. Problem is for those that are true moving RV'ers that come after the holidays and leave early (as you said "most winter Texans are gone.) For them they spent a lot of time and money for (as Tom said) "A ten day guest is looking forward to five cold days and five warm days" for their efforts/money. Not a great return on their investment.
My point is if you come to Texas as a mobile RV'er come for the right reasons, and not all of the hype (BS) of those that are trying to make you think they have FL/AZ weather at half the price. There's a reason it's half price, and if the prices do rise based on the hype, then there will be even a larger amount of open spots in the RV parks.
