Asked a local SPI resident how spring break was going for them. Their reply was "what spring break." The bad weather (maybe even some prior safety concerns) linked with social media is changing how the younger crowd is spending their money/time in the area not only snowbirds. Fancy marketing isn't going to fool a tech savvy crowd.
Had a great time with friends, neighbors, and the local people. Ate well, drank good, laughed, enjoyed the surroundings, and got to be part of the friendly culture of the RGV. Feel blessed that I could leave the frozen tundra I call home for south TX. Really hope next winter's weather is better, would be a shame to give up on TX just because of climate change (if that's what is happening.)
