The reason it has "blossomed" has a lot to do with the fact that the weather has kept a lot of people indoors and on their computers this winter. Today's high of 69 degrees is nice compared to home, but not great for those who want to enjoy the swimming pools and other outdoor activities. The sun must be visiting elsewhere this month.
