Great! Glad you are thinking of Northeast Texas. I do highly recommend Tyler state park. It is just 10 miles north of the city but heavily wooded and a nice small lake. The Lakeshore loop is highly preferred and has full hookups. There is even a very weak WIFI. Maybe that should be Lakeview loop. We are in Estes Park, Colorado tonight so I don't have the exact information easily available.
Stanley's BBQ in town is deservedly popular, but Bodacious BBQ is only a mile or two from the State Park. And it ain't bad.
