Southern destination w kids week of New years? Where to go?

I understand the winter cold, lived in Rome NY for 12 years. But even as far south as here, Montgomery Area of AL, highs will be in the 50s to low 60s and lows can dip into the 30s at night that time of year.
If you want warm weather Florida is the best plan.
