We did the Smokies two years ago for Spring Break, spent a week there. It was nice, but we've btdt. We went to Disney in January. We're going to DC in April. Those places are out. We've done caves, mines, mountains, oceans, lakes. I thought about going to the Everglades, but that's a touch too far.
We're looking to do something different, new location, new experiences, etc. We live in the land of beautiful beaches so even a beach vacation isn't appealing because that's what we do all summer long.
If it was warmer, I'd go west. We don't need to swim, but a little warmer would be nice.
I'm also considering Congaree National Park in South Carolina, but not sure what else there is to do in the area.
Your children are lucky to have done all those great trips. It seems you've done everything within your 1200 mile limit, especially if a beach vacation isn't really what you're looking for.
How about New York City? April 'could' be nice.
Branson, MO? I don't know how many children's shows they would have but there are nice paddling rivers and lakes in the southern Missouri Ozarks - also in Arkansas.
Texas Hill Country has nice areas and state parks.
