We're staying at North Beach over spring break. I asked a similar question as the OP a couple of months ago and received an overwhelming vote for North Beach. I've researched the other places recommended but I really like the concept of the Atlantic and ICW at each end of the park. The only item that concerns me is several comments I saw on Trip Advisor regarding the sand. Wish the roads were paved. The place does look rundown but not sure if that is the look they are going for or if it really is rundown.
