Hi Jonaz - I registered just so I can answer your question. I'm out at Star Wars Canyon regularly.

The best place to camp is at Panamint Springs Resort - it's only about 10 minutes from the canyon.

If you're going to just watch, Father Crowley Vista is your best bet. For pictures, you may want to choose a better spot.

Tues thru Thurs are the best days to go. It averages about 10 passes a day, so be patient.

Close is a relative term... so yes, there are campgrounds nearby in the park

Its a real place, where fighter jets and military aircraft fly through the canyons. Nothing to do with Star Wars filming.

It's not computer generated? I thought the wars were all filmed overseas.
