We're probably going to do my sister's house near Corvallis, OR and right in the middle of the path of totality. One of my kids lives in Beaverton and the other in Portland so they can also come down to "aunties" to see it through our hydrogen-alpha scope and other solar viewing goodies.
I wonder why you'd say a "boondocking site" for a solar eclipse? It's in the daytime so it's not as if you have to get away from city lights or the dome of light from a metropolitan area. All you really need is a relatively open horizon and clear skies.
