Update: Jean and Jefe have been scouring the Eclipse2017 websites. There is a lot of conflicting info out there. Are they really expecting 100K people in the area? The Eclipse glasses have been ordered. The best map source so far has been good old Google Earth. Set on the tightest telephoto we have found several suspects in boondocking for the 19th-21st. The key here was, 2-track, steep up and down, rocky, washed out, off camber, overgrown (in places), hard to get to, and narrow jeep trails north of Hwy. 26 in central OR. Hint: our potential choices are directly on the eclipse centerline path.
My only concern is heat. We are 3 season campers and summer is not one of them.
I think I'll put the Nikon camera on the roll up table and just let it run for a few minutes, facing east toward the camper to let the shadow just roll over us. I hope to disconnect the auto light feature.
