State Park Campgrounds

Any suggestions on nice state campgrounds you have enjoyed visiting in the southwest or western states? We have a 36 foot fifth wheel and have noticed some of the state parks are limited on site length. Thanks...
  • We really liked Ridgway State Park in Colorado. They even have some FHU sites. Plenty of room on most sites, especially the FHU ones.
  • Traveled all over the West and we finally upgraded to a smaller B so we could park just about anywhere. Saying that, in the mountains, sites are smaller due to grade, trees and age of the park. In the desert, sites are more accommodating to larger rigs.
  • Lots of Utah State Parks can handle your rig, but not all and not all sites. We reserve through the state park website and the descriptions and sizes are pretty accurate. Utah State Parks
