State Parks in North Florida/South Georgia

I agree with the Fort Clinch suggestion!! There are some shady and sunny sites depending on your preference. I would suggest you check out the state's park list and try out the parks on your own. The parks I like you may not find as enjoyable.

X2 on Crooked River, we enjoyed the three nights we stayed there. I guess I'm in the minority, I hated Skidaway Island and will never go back. It's almost surrounded by a subdivision and unless you go downtown, the area is rough.

I'll vote for Skidaway Island also. Stopped to overnight there a couple years ago and ended up staying 3. Gary

Agree with everyone...Skidaway or Fort Clinch are both awesome. Little Talbot Island is also cool if you like more rustic style campgrounds, but it will be a little more difficult to get in with a 30 footer.

Fort Clinch is fantastic; river, beach, pier; but as stated you need to make your reservations well in advance.

Some stay weekdays if you can make it fit your schedule.

Anastasia SP is about 30 miles south of JAX in ST. Augustine. Check ahead for availability. Lots to do and see in the area.
