jfkmk...in the article, the author says he has been full timing for six years. If one calculates $30 a night, we have $900 a month...which is $10,800 a year, which is about $65,000 over six years. I think I understand why he might be doing it.
If your travel see you mostly in the east, you probably don't see the huge numbers of people that do live this way. Yes, many are homeless, but many are simply choosing this method as a way of stretching their available resources. And then there are the many that just choose to do it for whatever reasons they have.
