After many months of not camping, with many family obligations. We are finally hitting the road soon. So, our trip destination is Ft. Desoto, we have been there loved it! My question is for a one night stopover between here and there. Looking at Stephen Foster State Park right across the FL line which would be about halfway for us. Have any of u stayed at this park? Is it nice for a overnight?

Rode through couple weeks ago. Nice and we put it on our camping list. Woodsy and level sites...good choice.

We stayed there on our way to Orlando. Wonderful park, very well maintained, one of the cleanest parks we've ever visited. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We've stayed there a couple of times for a week each time. Lovely campground with lots to see and do in the park! The town of White Springs is nearly dead but the state park is very nice and doing well. Their Holiday Lighting Festival is awesome!!!

Stephen Foster is one of our favorite parks and we have stayed there many times. Beautiful campground with large sites. If you have time take a tour of the museum and be sure to walk down to the Suwanee River.

Love Stephen Foster Park, but bring spray for ticks! Only ticks we have picked up in 5 years of traveling was twice at Stephen Foster, but that won't keep me from going back.

Thanks for all the replies, booked a pull-thru for overnight. That will be a perfect half-way stop!

We stayed there on our way to Manatee Springs and loved. What a nice quiet park that is very pretty. We happened to hit it at the beginning of an antique tractor meet/show/gathering and got the only open site. But it was still very nice. Plan to stop in again on our way to Ft. Desoto also. (Hopefully)

We have stayed there a few times and loved it. Since you are just interested in an overnight, you won't care that there isn't much in White Springs. Fat Belly's is a great restaurant even though it doesn't look like much!

We have camped there many times.

Campground hosted there once.

It is an outstanding park.

It is a beautiful park by the Suwannee River. The carrillon plays S. Foster's tunes every 2 hours during the daytime.

It is a shame that you will be spending just an overnite. Try to stretch it to a day.
