Sugar Sands RV Resort Gulf Shores, AL
This is my first review/post so please be gentle.
How are Good Sam's ratings given? How could a park receive a 10 rating before any amenities are installed? Are they simply SOLD?
This review covers three visits and one stay to this GS 10 rated park over a five months period.
The park is located 6 +/- miles from the beach. The staff and camp hosts on all visits were wonderful. Southern hospitality at its best. The park roads are wide with no tight turns with 61 wide, level concrete pads as advertised. Landscaping not complete but park spotless as was bath/wash house. Although this is a Good Sam Park we were told that no discount would be applied to current "construction" rates or monthly rates.
Visit ONE June 2014 GS Rated 10

Lazy River - not present or under construction
We declined to stay since no amenities in place at this Good Sam 10

Bath/wash Houses Two advertised - one in place (3 stalls & 4 showers on men's side for 61 sites)
50 amp service - in place
Water & sewer at sites - in place
WIFI Limited temp only (park trying to upgrade. Wifi has been down for four days)

We found during our stay that park was about a mile from the end of the Gulf Shores Airport runway. Airport used for practicing "touch and goes" for hours a day.
Having stated all of the above we had a good stay (as always in LA (Lower Alabama)) and would consider staying again.
