Suggestion On Tombstone Area Campgrounds

We are in the Phoenix area for another 10 days or so and then I am going to fulfill a boyhood dream of going to Tombstone. Any suggestions on places to stay would be appreciated. After checking the reviews on RV parks review, I am more confused than ever. I don't have to stay within walking distance from town as I have a tow.
Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.
  • We stayed at Kartchner Caverns State Park and it was very nice. I wanted to be closer to the Caverns than the Escapee Park near Benson. Both are good locations and there is plenty to occupy your time in the area with day trips. Tucson is not that far away either.
  • My favorite park is Tombstone Territories RV Park. We camp there at least once a year. It is just outside of town and in a very quiet area. There are great views of the border of the Sonoran/Chihuahuan deserts.

You won't find a better place than this and their 1 week for $50 including electric can't be beat. Huge, beautifully-landscaped sites. There's a lot more to the area than Tombstone and you could easily spend a week.

Tombstone on Sat or Sunday is more festive.
Bisbee is unique and the mine tour is awesome. It's given by former miners. You don a yellow slicker, hard hat with a light and hop on a mine car for the tour.
A day trip to Chirichuha Nat'l Monument - interesting rock formations and nice hiking. It's also cooler temperatures.
Kartchner Caverns State Park for the Rotunda Room tour - very professional.
    A day trip to Patagonia.

That certainly is a very nice park. You can't beat the price. Also the suggestions for other things to see in the area are spot on.
