Definitely stay well away from Atlanta. A number of the Georgia State Parks are historic sites or are close to historic sites.
Check out the Warner Robins Museum of Aviation.
Here's the Georgia State Parks and Historic sites guide online.. Nearly all of the GA State Parks have RV sites. Check to be sure if you pick a park. Some don't.

Ft. McAllister State Park just south of Savannah has historic re-enactments. You can camp there and go explore Savannah's historic district.
