With two weeks you could explore West Arkansas and southern Missouri. So much to see. There is a new State Park in MO called Echo Bluff just north of Eminence. The Current River and Jacks Fork River are National Scenic river ways. Nice way to cool off. The rivers are cold and clear as there are many large springs. They are both Class 1, gentle current.
Rt. 7 in Arkansas is very scenic. Lake Ouachita, Hot Springs, Mt. Magazine, Bull Shoals SP below the dam at Bull Shoals Lake, Buffalo National River (spring is best for floating, no current in July, not cold water), Petit Jean SP, Crater of Diamonds SP (you keep what you find!).
