Yes, I run 99 a lot. More stops available. I-5 in central valley is boring and the bumps under the over passes are a problem. I like 58 East from the Orange Grove. I go down thru Palm Dale and take 138 East then 15, 215, 210 to 10 East. Chris
The route we did this fall. Also agree on the problem with the I-5 road surface under the overpasses - arghhh! - daily_doubleExplorerLeaving Tues. morning , can't wait!!
- Me_AgainExplorer IIIWe arrived at our winter home this morning. We really enjoyed the stop at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.

We leave our summer home base in Reno 10-28 and plan a 4 day trip to our winter home arriving in Eloy, AZ (10 miles south of Casa Grande) on 10-31.
That didn't take long!! We are chomping at the bit...can you tell???
We'll be leaving now on Sunday the 22nd.
Itinerary Updated.
You taking that route to avoid Lost Wages? Or to get oranges?
Let see, fuel cost more and some roads are bumpy in California. Chris
Vegas isn't a problem for us in fact on the way back to our home base in Reno in April we spend sometime in Pahrump which means we go through Vegas.
Oranges? Yeah and they are juicy and delicious at the Orange Grove.
Fuel? We have a 65 gal aux tank in the box which gives us about 100 gals when full...enough to get us into AZ. where diesel has always been cheaper than up north.
Big reason we have been going this way is the weather. We use to leave in Nov and go east on I-80 and hook up with the 95 South through Hawthorne...Whiskey Flats RV Park is a good overnight stop. Besides being a boring trip we froze up 2 different years (water hose which we had another).
We like going over the 'hill' and staying warm right away...won't even have to winterize the way it looks this year.
Our first stop as you saw is Woodbridge/Lodi on the 99. I have no problem with the 99 at all and actually it seems the 5 has more construction fixing that bad road. - Me_AgainExplorer III

Itinerary Updated. - BarbaraOKExplorerRolled into Mesa, AZ around 1:00 pm. today. Surprised at the number of people already here - - there were quite a few coming in for the 3 months special - $995 for October-December.
Barb - bighatnohorseExplorer IILooking forward to breakfast at the First Watch cafe. Arrival time indeterminate.
- BarbaraOKExplorerWe will arrive in Mesa on Monday, hopefully before noon if I can get Dave going in the morning. It has been a wonderful six months roaming through the PNW, but am looking forward to stretching out a little, breakfast at Wildberry and concerts at the MIM.
