Tampa, Florida

Will be visiting Tampa for five days in late December for a wedding. I've looked at rvparkreviews but would appreciate any suggestions about where to stay and things to do.
  • We stay at Bay Bayou when visiting our children in Tampa. It is not our usual type of park as it is more of a "resort", but it is very clean, quiet, and attractive. We don't use any of their attractions or participate in the activities as we are out all day with the kids but it is a nice place to come "home" to. lizzie
  • FT De Soto is a great park but difficult to get into. County Park and County residents have first choice.
  • Check out Ft. De Soto state park if you want to stay on the water. In St. Pete but a short drive to Tampa
  • I prefer http://www.happytravelerrvpark.com/index.html
It's handy to I-75 and it's a straight shot in to the USF area and over to I-275/US-41.

What part of Tampa are you going to? It's a huge area like Houston.
  • A couple years ago we visited some friends that lived in Clearwater FL. After all the checking around we stayed at Hillsborough River State Park. No sewer hookups so if you need them this park will not work but we are okay without sewer for a few days.
  • While you are waiting search this Forum on the RV Parks section for `Tamps' and read on.
