My favorite has become Macedonia Brook State Park in Connecticut... this is small, no hookups, no dump station, campground bathrooms are outhouses, and the available water is literally from manually operated well pumps!
But... it is a gorgeous, heavily wooded campground that is just a fantastic place to sit and relax!
And unfortunately due to our lovely governor (Malloy, who I believed is now known as the worst governor in the USA), Macedonia and a few other state parks are closed due to budget cuts, hopefully for just this year. :(
