Teton camping

I'm not having any luck finding a campsite with a view of the Tetons. Do you have a favorite campsite that had a view that you would be willing to share with me? Hookups are not an issue.
  • I want to thank everyone for your help. You folks are a wealth of information. Thanks again.

Hope to me some of you in the campground
  • Have to agree with Steve 83406, even though the campsites are surrounded by trees, stepping out of the fifth wheel and into the roads around the sites will allow you a wonderful view of the Tetons. Then, just take a short, five minute, walk and you are at the shore of Jackson Lake and one of the prettiest views in the world, in my opinion. We go there at least three times per year, June, July and August, camp and then go fishing and sightseeing. Gros Ventre is about 45 minutes from Jackson Lake and the view from there is compromised by the hills between the campground and the Tetons as can be seen in the picture posted by rv2go. Signal Mountain would be great, but i believe your fifth wheel is too long for that campground.
  • This was the view from the Colter Bay picnic area, Oct. 7th. This is a three minute walk from the RV park. The park is now closed to camping for the year... just as well, it started snowing yesterday and it was a blizzard most of the time. I got this picture of Roger (the border collie) on Saturday when it was still sunny, but cool. We try to get into the parks (Yellowstone and the Tetons) at the beginning of the season and at the end. I suspect there were only 50 camping rigs in the whole RV park. Most everything was closed save for the visitor's center.

  • If you want a great view with the perfect price (free) you might want to check this spot out. Limited number of day stays depending on time of year. You should check with USFS ranger station in Jackson for exact details.

  • Colter Bay RV Park has some sites with views. Trouble is, you can't be guaranteed a specific site (though you can request one.) We didn't have a mountain view from our site there, but it was a very short walk to the Jackson Lake beach - BIG view! Your rig would fit in that CG too.
