we just got back from 10 days in Gros Ventre campground and loved it. We were in A loop very open so we could use our solar panels and generator. Only 13 dollars a night with senior pass. We didn't feel it was too far away from sites in park. You have to drive everywhere anyway to get to trails and other sight seeing places. But that type of camping isn't for everyone. Sites are big and just so peaceful there. We went to Colter Bay and checked it out. It is nice but no views. Lots of trees and seems really close to each other and lot and lot of people. Too crowded for us.
