Texas hill country park recommedations?

We're looking to spend mid-March to mid-April in hill country after 3 months in the RGV. We're looking to do some nice motorcycle riding to make up for the lack of that in the valley.

Looking for a nice park capable of handling big rigs. Hot tub would be a definite plus!

Any recommendations?
  • Inks Lake State Park. One of our favorites.

    Koyote Ranch near Medina TX.

In addition to what I posted earlier, I heartily concur with these two suggestions -- at two widely different parts of the Hill Country
  • Buckhorn is a really nice campground, but very "developed"...nice concrete pads and well maintained green spaces. For a more Hill Country experience...Garner State Park and Inks Lake. There is a campground in the HC that is popular for motorcycle riders...I'll see if I can find the name.
  • I found a lot of help with the website rvparky.com in finding reviews & places to stay. The thing is you say hill country it covers a large area.

  • We always try to go to the Hill Country in April and we always stay at the KOA in Fredericksburg. We do not ordinarily favor KOAs but this is one place that we do.

It is out east of town, right where the road to Luckenbach turns off from US 290.

We go for the Bluebonnets and have found the Willow City Loop to be the best place for viewing.
