Texas hurricane recovery

Went down to Corpus and Port Aransas about a month after Harvey, did not cross over to Aransas Pass or Rockport, Ferry was on a limited schedule. Some of the RV parks and restaurants have re-opened in the Port A area. Call the parks you are interested in going to to see if they are open. Mustang Island State Park is closed along with the park up at the jetty. Don't believe the I heard from a friend of a friend who said they were closed. Call! A lot of places are re-opening daily.

We spent the 1st week of December in Rockport.
Probably only 2 or 3 parks are closed in Rockport. One of those is because of new ownership and he gave all the tenets a 30 day evict notice so that he can rebuild the park. Most of the parks had more openings than usual especially the Lagoons RV park where 3/4 of their sites were empty. Usually that park is pretty well filled up.
Lots of damage in Rockport and Port Aransas.
On 35 bypass which is a divided highway there was 1.2 miles of debris that they dumped between the lanes so they could get the City cleaned up fast.

Have some friends who have rented at the same park in the Rockport area when you include her parents, been on the same site for in excess of 30 years seasonally. New ownership since the hurricane now, isn't doing seasonal deals any more, renting to workers rebuilding area now. Told to clear their stuff out and go elsewhere, no renewal.
