Obviously the OP has never been to a CALIFORNIA STATE PARK...:E. They don't charge that awful $5/day FEE. They simply charge $58/night to camp!...We've bought the Texas and Colorado yearly passes. If you're staying a week or more, you save money doing that.
To the OP: Since you found that park to be sorta trashy, what did you do while you were there to enhance your site???...:h.
I was taught to leave our campsite cleaner than it was when we arrived. I usually rake the site, clean the firepit and wash out the BBQ when we arrive. When leaving we make sure we leave it clean and sanitary for those that follow us. If everyone did this, our State Parks would be nicer and more enjoyable. Unfortunately, only a few do. Many, and I've seen locals that are the worst, disrespect the parks in their backyards, figuring someone else should clean up after them...sad really...Dennis
Thank You, you need to be commended, we as well always try to leave the site better than when we found it but I must admit we do not go to the extent that you do. I will certainly try to do better in the future.
