Texas State Parks
Iam on the road....stayed in a Texas State park in N Texas.....It was fairly run down and unkept compared to fed parks.....but the real kicker was the cost......$5.00 /each/per day entrance plus $16....

We bought a State Park Pass our first year of camping. After that we discovered the COE Parks and the Arkansas State Parks which we frequent quite a bit. We have not even considered going back to a TSP, so no one has to worry about me taking up space of those who think it's OK to pay the price for a site plus a user fee for every person, every day.
For us, the COE parks are the best. My NP pass gets us half price camping and there's no day use fee. If you are paying for a site, you should not have to pay additional fees. If we want a REALLY nice weekend, we head to Arkansas. TPWD could take a few lessons from them on running state parks.
