The best advice I can pass on was the advice we received on our first trip to Texas.
Pick a state or USACE park in the area you want to stay. During that time drive to possible parks that you would stay in long term and inspect them personally.
What each person wants in a winter park is very different, and by going there first you can raise the odds that you will like it.
We found that some parks looked great on the web, but in our opinion, were dumps. The opposite was also true. There is no substitute to going there in person before you put down a lot of money for the season
