Some folks like the challenge and will come up with elaborate anchoring systems, just so they can say, "I leave my awning out, most of the time". I had one tore up in Florida, and two in Texas. That's about how I would rate the wind between the two. But at RGV prices, I will leave my awning in and my money in the bank.
