They were dedicated there by ceremony on July 4, 1925; my father was instrumental in getting them there and fought many times to keep them there. You CAN fight "city hall", aka federal government. Also not quite so famous as the birthplace of my wife and I - same hospital & same delivery room. They only had one of each back then! :-)

No. Liberty Island is in NY. Liberty Park is in NJ. Liberty Island is accessible from NY and NJ by ferry.
