There is so much to respond to. I will, but running out the door now. However, wanted to quickly say that we have done DC as a family, when the boys were 7. We want to go again, but since it is only 7.5 hours from home, we don't want to on our summer block.

We have a philosophy that when we have a 6week window, we should use that time to visit the places that we couldn't on a 4 day weekend. That would mean nothing within an 8 hour drive.
