So revisiting this today, and looking at google driving directions, it wants to take me above Pittsburgh and down into maryland from there. The other option is to run down into columbus ohio and hit i-70 and take that across which would run under pittsburgh. It is a few hours out of the way to do that, but we have been through columbus before so at least i know it won't be an issue.
Frankly, after talking about it, I don't think it will be an issue either way.
I am concerned about it wanting to take us down i-270 for awhile and then the 495 headed into college park. Is there a better way? It says 495 is the capital beltway and I know the part we would be on runs above D.C. but not sure if that makes it any better. I've driven in D.C. a few times without the trailer and I know how nasty the traffic can be. Sitting on the expressway in heat, moving 2 miles per hour in a traffic jam isn't going to be fun for anyone lol. Is there a more preferred way?
Another question I had...we are considering around 4th of july. Yes I know its going to be hot lol. I'm more concerned that things may be more shut down during that time, though I would try to plan being there midweek prior and staying at least until the day after or maybe longer. Any thoughts on that timeframe?
