Where are there any high elevations east of the Mississippi? The highest mountain is lower than the streets of Denver.
Oh now, come on. How about Clingmans Dome (6643) Mt Mitchell (6684) Mt Washington (6288) or Mt Rogers (5729) all higher than the Mile High City.
Got a sticker that I bought at the top of Mt Evans. 14,000'. Now THAT is elevation for a vehicle. The diesel was gasping.
Been to the top of Mt Mitchell too. PUH! It is in the trees. Didn't bother with the sticker.
For the OP, elevation & engine performance should not be an issue at all. There are a few longish grades. I drive by the RPM. 2000-2200 whatever gear it wants & don't worry about those who want to go faster. I am always quicker than the trucks on the grades so that is plenty good enough.
