- Dutch_12078Explorer IIPresumably you're aware that The Villages is a massive master-planned age-restricted residential community (pop 50,000+) under the overall control of the developers. All exterior designs and modifications require the approval of the Architectural Review Committee. It is not an RV resort by any stretch of the imagination, although there are some fairly high end RV parks in the area.
- Sam_SpadeExplorerYes there are high end RV parks scattered around......or an upscale "manufactured home" park even.
But there are no RVs or trailers in the actual Villages. - sdianel_-acct_cExplorerThere is Sun City West, AZ (Phoenix area) that has RV resorts nearby. Go to www.woodalls.com and search for RV parks in Sun City West AZ. There are several RV Resorts with activities. also search for Sun City West to see all there is to offer in the area. There are many Sun City retirement communities throughout the US and although they don't have RV parks within them usually, they do have parks nearby.
- Swell1ExplorerThere are numerous parks in Az. Look under Cal-Am or Roberts Resorts. These are 55 plus parks that have both park models and RV's. All parks are loaded with Amenities.
Good Luck - kydaleExplorerCasa Grande has at least on we stayed in. Huge and well organized with lots to do. I think the name is Palm Desert. Take a look at it on line.
- joebedfordNomad IIHopefully not. One is creepy enough!
- John_JoeyExplorerThe person who is most known for the planned retirement community like "The Villages" is Dell Webb Dell Webb Clicky.
I'm guessing what you are really asking is for upper end units. If non RV, then try this site: Clicky.
If you are just asking about park model parks, there are more of them then you can swing a stick at. Just pick a snowbird destination to your liking, and start driving around.
There are also some extremely nice owner (RV only) parks. Those are a lot harder to find from a lazy boy chair with an internet connection. You really need to be in the RV lifestyle to hear, or come across them. The last one I found was: Bella Terra. It's only for Class A's. Very nice park, does get cold in the winters. Nice area.
So as you can see the first real big question to ask is what type/style of life are you looking for. As others stated "The Villages" and "RV resort" is sort of an oxymoron. - Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer II

Google Earth can be your friend - you can usually tell the parks that have permanent trailers by the white roof-overs everywhere :-) Sometimes you can actually go to the "Street View" and look around from ground level. It also lets you see things that aren't in the advertising brochures, like the iron scrapyard next door, or the feedlot down the street...LOL!
Google Earth is free to download, and it's pretty easy to use. They offer a nice tutorial; but I can't say that I've ever watched it. - rockhillmanorExplorer

DW was asking if there was any place in Arizona or Texas like it. She was in FL recently and visited that massive retirement area, wondering if there was such a spot for RVers? Carl
There is NO other retirement community as expansive as the Villages' in Florida is. It encompass about 4 counties and they are planning to expand into yet another county. Much to the locals dismay.
"The Villages is a massive master-planned retirement development in Florida. At 34 square miles and expanding, it’s already bigger than Manhattan"

Be aware that there are REAL STRICT rules and laws when you choose to live in those types of 'large' planned communities. IMHO I would never want to live in one.
This was my view from the toad on each and every street when I went there to go to one of their stores. :R
