thousand Islands or lake George ny

Looking to go to one of these areas in a couple weeks. Looking for input. Maybe some kayaking. Not into fishing. Wondering which is better. Thanks

Look at Association Island-- get a waterfront site for convenience in launching the kayak. Another option is Merry Knoll CG in Clayton . Check out the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton-- big show Aug 1-10
  • Higley Flow state park.
About 60 miles to Saranac Lake. About 40 miles to Ogdensburg.
It is just outside Adirondack SP. Electric in A,B and C loops. I can give you recommendations - we go there twice a year with the grandchildren. Great place for kayaking.

We also stay at Wellesley Island SP. Enjoy the Kayaking there too.

Stayed at Coles Creek SP in June - Kayaked on Coles Creek. The weekends are usually booked 9 months in advance

We have a 35 foot fifth wheel so we are limited more to some of the parks along the St Lawrence.

We always try to go during the week - less campers.
