Sounds like overall, you had a very good first experience and a good introduction to the world of RV'ing. Since you've tried Lake Minden and saw how TT works, take a ride up to Marysville and go to Lake of the Springs (actually in Oregon House). It's the best of their campgrounds and you might even look into the zone pass for a year although you're closer to their Groveland park near Yosemite.
Like you, we really like being able to change campsites at will. Last time we were at Lake of the Springs we moved about 3 times, mainly to get more privacy even though the neighbors weren't that noisy.
