thousand trails membership

Hi There,
would like to get feedback on thousand trails membership. Is it worth the price? I pretty much pay more than that and only get out a couple of times a year. Wondering how good the parks are, linkages to other destinations, is it more family oriented, or for us 'older' generation that might prefer some quietness over the family fun filled activities.

thanks
  • Like anything else...depends on how you use it. We have been members for about 10 years. 8 of those years we used it way more than it cost us and for 2 years we didn't hardly use it at all due to family illness. Overall we are very happy with our membership.

Most parks in the Northwest are nice, especially some of the Leisure Time Resort parks that TT bought. TT has been putting more money into the parks for upkeep and upgrades the past few years. Some parks are very good and some are okay.
  • I had a membership for over ten years and it wasn't worth it to us. But that was my fault as I thought we'd be doing a lot of camping; which we did NOT. It would be a nice thing to have but only if you use it a good deal of the time.
  • I would suggest that you start with a Thousand Trails Zone Pass. I think that now that you may get two Zones for the price of one for about $525. This will give you 30 days free camping, then $3 per night. If I count correct, there are 33 Parks in the two Zones on the west coast. CA, OR and WA.
The $525 would probably be the amount you would spend for a months camping in a Private CG.
    (I am a TT member)
  • Often memberships are sold on Ebay for ten cents on the dollar. It really did'nt pencil out for us. Also the idea of being locked into only a hand rul of locations in our area did not apeal to us after checking them out.
