three island crossing state park glenns ferry Idaho

Have you ever been here? Our family makes this our 4th of July spot almost every year. This us a very nice little sleepy old railroad town. The campground is immaculate! It has a nice gift shop with a awesome interpretive museum with history of the old west, with great native Indian and pioneer exhibits. Three island crossing is where the pioneers would cross the snake river. Theyo have reenactments of the crossing every year. One of the nice features to the park its Carmella winery its right next to the campground and in walking distance. You may end up staggering back! We spend time at the community pool, which is perfect for the very hot glenns ferry weather. We attend the little catholic church on Saturday night. The best part its going into town (two streets) to the fudge factory for huckleberry ice cream! Great place to start some family memories.

  • Just got back from three island crossingand the weather was great. I believe that August 9th and 10th is Glenn ferry days.
  • Incidentally, I think both of these parks give a senior discount on M-Th camping.
Absolutely true. And, we make it a point to stay both Three Island and Massacre Rocks when in the area.

    Both parks are truly gems.
  • It's about halfway between Twin Falls and Boise off I-84 at Glenns Ferry. Depending on where you are on 2, you probably will need to come down I-15 to I-84 and head west. If you do, then you will go through American Falls, which also has a very nice state park, Massacre Rocks. Incidentally, I think both of these parks give a senior discount on M-Th camping.
  • Where in Idaho is this park located. Coming from Montana on rt 2?
    Sounds nice.
  • Yes, many times! It's one of my favorites. I don't think they do the reenactments any more but it is a beautiful park with a lot of history.
