Tims Ford State Park, TN

We'll be visiting Jack Daniels Distillery and staying at Tims Ford State Park.
Any opinions about the park?
  • The TN Aquarium, Rock City, Ruby Falls, also the Incline are the big ones so to speak. Also the Tennessee Valley Railroad is great.
  • Thanks all,
We'll be staying at site # 4 in the main area, which has sewer and 30A also.
Kind of going a little off topic, but well be passing through Chattanooga. What's a "Must See" while there?

  • We enjoy Tims. The sites are small and like everywhere else we have been you have to wonder what the ..... were these people thinking when they built this. The park is really nice also. sites 1,2,3 have full HU. site 1 has 50a 2&3 have 30a. Enjoy JD and Dickle. Larry
  • TPUC is right about the sites, very shallow. To me it was built for tent camping. You will be fine with the TC though. The rest of the park is very nice. We also like Old Stone Fort, and the time to drive to Lynchburg isn't much more.
  • After Jack Daniels, George Dickle is a must! See how Real Tennessee Whiskey is made. Alas, no tasting there. Might be a good idea to call first.
  • It stays packed. However I think it really sucks. The sites are very shallow. My 22 footer will hardly fit. You have to park where your awning should go. People put larger campers in there but they hang out in the road. I am a local and prefer Old Stone Fort. Just my 2 cents. Not trying to scare ya.

You can also tour George Dickle in Tullahoma.
