Toll roads going south?

Probably the worse part of our trip is going down I 25 through Denver. Lots of times we left Christmas morning and it wasn't much of a problem. This year leaving its not going to be good. We have an EZ Pass for E 470 toll road around Denver. Price of fuel being down Im going to give myself a Christmas present and pull the trailer down it. The short route to the E 470 entrance even takes us around Highway 85 for about 45 miles. That section is turning into a ZOO also! Going to cost around $35. It worth it just for stress management. Anyone else pamper themselves with toll roads?
  • Think about your increased chances of an accident, or sitting in a traffic jam wasting gas, if you go straight down I-25. That makes the toll look a lot better.

I came around there a few years ago, and did not realize it was a toll road. I saw the toll booths at the on-ramps but just breezed on around, from I-25 to I-70. It was quite the surprise to get a bill for $26 in the mail a few weeks later. Apparently the license plate cameras are very efficient!

Yes. I took that same road a couple years ago in a rental car. Wonderful.. almost empty.. those signs telling you to not stop are serious. I did stop to check my gps, and a help vehicle was on me in minutes, telling me to move it buddy!
  • I did not know there was a toll road near Denver.

There are a couple of them in Southern California. I try to avoid the toll roads, and take the free ones.

The big E-470 loop around Denver is a toll road. Well worth the $$ IMHO.
