- ItsyRVExplorerBisbee is a town with quirky attractions. It's mostly geared around arts. Tombstone is more like a living it out entertainment in the streets. As Janss mentioned, they are close enough that there isn't any reason not to hit both.
86 and 85 are rural 2 lane remote roads. Not much happening along the road and the scenery is the same for miles on end. There are long stretched of 86 where there are no real shoulders top speak of so slower traffic doesn't have much areas to pull right to expedite passing so you could be behind a slow vehicle for miles. This is more common during the annual migration of the wavy sided snowbirds heading north for the summer. But overall, it a nice leisurely trip so long as you don't run out of gas. - ivbinconnedExplorer IIWe are doing the caverns at 1 pm. Don’t think we can do both towns on account of that.
- JanssExplorer IIThey are only about 25 miles apart. Is there a reason you feel you can't go to both?
- ivbinconnedExplorer IIWell that helps, thank you.
Another question is what is highway 86 and 85 like as we are considering going that way as we make our way north west? - ncrowleyExplorer IIWe just went to both in Feb and we really enjoyed the mine tour in Bisbee and the town is really cool. We enjoyed Tombstone but it was too touristy for us.
- azdryheatExplorerWe go to both and they are special in their own ways. Tombstone is gunslinger history and Bisbee is an artist colony. I prefer Tombstone - more shops, more restaurants, more to do.
