- rbtgloveExplorerWe lived in Rapid City for four years and one thing that was hard to predict was the weather. The only month we didn't have snow was July. But if you do have bad weather it will change quickly.

We use this website. It gives typical weather info. - CroweExplorerDefine "too hot". For me much above 70 and I start to get uncomfortable. My sister doesn't get "too hot" until about 80 or so. Dry heat IS very different than wet heat. The two times I've been there it's been very dry. AND very hot-over 100 degrees in July/August.
- CumminalongExplorerThanks everyone, sounds good we can stand a little heat as we are in S Ontario where ìt gets in the 30s (90f)with high humidity It will not be this year as covid is still a border issue, but next yr we hope to go. Thanks again
- LwiddisExplorer IIMy last visit was in July. Not too hot.

If you use a preposition (like to, from, by, about, outside, against, etc.), then it's "whom". - dodge_guyExplorer IIThe Black Hills are in the mountains, so it will be cooler than down by Hot Springs. the Badlands are a bit lower in elevation so it can get hot during the day and cold at night. Ive been there in July and August. Never had an issue with heat, that's not to say a heatwave wont hit when you plan to go!
- Badlands....A quick overnight on the eastern end then a drive west on 240 to Wall. Catch I90 over to Rapid City and and spend your time in the Black Hills where there is shade. We were there in late June early July and were wearing heated gear when we headed east.
- TenOCNomadThe Badlands are one of my favorite NP. Go for it. Two or three days will do. Anyone can stand a little heat for that long.
- navigator2346ExplorerWe ave been there in July and it is fine. Only problem, and it really isn't a problem, is that during the mid day sun, all the animals are deep in the woods where you can't see them. Only ones that come out are the donkeys looking for a handout. You might also suffer a hail storm
